Jennifer Lawrence is everywhere; the big screen, magazine covers and all over late night talk shows, now shes ready to add Director to her resume. Over the years, Lawrence has expressed interest in directing numerous times, stating “I have wanted to direct as long as I’ve wanted to act. I just don’t talk about it because I’d rather just do it.” Now thats she is finally ready, what projects does she have in store for us?

One specific project is a feature film, based on an article about mental warfare in the 60’s, titled Project Delirium. She recently told Entertainment Weekly, that “it’s like an acid experiment gone terribly wrong,”

Lawrence may be referring to an article in The New Yorker named “Operation Delirium” that details “a secret chemical weapons testing program run by the U.S. Army during the Cold War.” 5,000 US Soldiers were unknowingly exposed to nerve gas and psychedelic drugs; such as LSD during the experiment. One of the lead doctors of the military project, Jim Ketchum, still maintains that all experiments were carried out for the greater good, despite the obvious risks and psychological trauma inflicted upon the soldiers.

This is certainly heavy subject matter for a directorial debut. In the meantime we can look forward to her collaboration with Amy Schumer, and her starring role in the drama Joy, directed by David O. Russell, which comes out on Christmas Day.
