Sony Pictures Classic has released the first trailer for the biographical drama I Saw the Light. Tom Hiddleston stars as Hank Williams, the country music legend, whose quick rise to fame and unrestrained lifestyle took a toll on his marriage and career, eventually leading to his untimely death at the age of 29.

Written and directed by Mark Abraham, the film based on the book, “Hank Williams: The Biography”, has been one controversy after another since the initial casting rumors of English actor, Tom Hiddleston, best known for his role as Loki, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Hank William’s family and die-hard fans have made their skepticism well known from the beginning. However, Hiddleston isn’t one to back down from a challenge. The Shakespearean actor spent several weeks in Nashville, TN, training with executive music producer Rodney Crowell, learning to talk, sing, and play guitar, like the late, great Williams.
